Naira in, dollars on the account
According to FxPro the minimum first deposit is $100 by card or bank wire; e‑wallets set their own floors. The number to hold on to is that the account is denominated in dollars. Everything a Nigerian trader finds surprising about funding follows from that one line: the naira figure is decided by your bank’s rate, the transaction is a cross-border one, and many Nigerian banks cap how much a card may spend abroad in a month. None of those ceilings belong to FxPro — they belong to the card issuer, and they are the reason a first attempt can be declined while the account itself is perfectly fine.
| Method | Minimum | Usually credited |
|---|---|---|
| Bank card | $100 | ~10 minutes |
| PayPal · Skrill · Neteller | varies → | same day |
| Bank wire (international) | $100 | 3–5 business days |
Verification with Nigerian documents
Registration takes minutes; verification is where the delay lives. Two things are being established — that you are who you say, and that you live where you say — and a mismatch between them is the usual reason an upload comes back.
- Register in FxPro Direct with a working email address.
- Prove identity. The NIN slip or card, an international passport or a voter’s card are the documents Nigerians normally reach for. Photograph the whole document, corners included, in daylight — cropped edges are rejected more often than blurred text.
- Prove address. A recent utility bill or a bank statement carrying your name and street address. It has to be the address you typed at registration; if you have moved, update the profile before uploading rather than after.
- Choose Standard or Raw+, then fund from $100. Standard puts the cost in the spread; Raw+ splits it into a tighter spread plus commission. Both are covered on the price list below.
Signing in, and when the market is awake
Everything lives behind one door: FxPro Direct, in a browser tab or in the FxPro app. Deposits, withdrawals, documents and password resets are all there, whichever platform you actually trade on.
| On the Nigerian clock | WAT (UTC+1, no seasonal change) |
|---|---|
| Market opens (Sunday) | ~22:00 |
| London session begins | ~08:00–09:00 |
| London and New York together | ~14:00–18:00 |
| Market closes (Friday) | ~23:00 |
- Open FxPro Direct. The identical portal on desktop and phone, so nothing is lost by working from the app alone.
- Email first, then password. In the app a one-time code can replace the password entirely, according to FxPro — handy when typing a long password on a phone in a hurry.
- Reset goes to your registered address. Check that mailbox still exists before the afternoon overlap, not during it.
Five platforms on a phone-first connection
All five are added from the same portal. On a connection that is mobile more often than fixed, the honest question is not which platform has the most buttons but which one costs least to keep open: FxPro Edge runs in a browser tab with nothing installed, and the FxPro app (Google Play 4.5★, 10M+ installs; App Store 4.4★, per store listings) carries MT4 and MT5 accounts without a desktop anywhere in the picture.
The familiar terminal on desktop and phone; Standard accounts start at 1.2-pip spreads.
The broader instrument range of the two MetaTrader builds.
Depth-of-market pricing on raw spreads plus the $3.50 per-lot commission.
Browser-based, nothing downloaded — the lightest way in from a shared or borrowed machine.
Trade the FxPro account on TradingView’s charts.
Demo accounts are available on four of the five; TradingView is the exception. Whichever you choose, the positions themselves sit on the broker’s servers rather than your handset — a dropped connection interrupts your control of a trade, not the trade itself.
Bringing money home
The rule is symmetry: money leaves the way it came in. Fund by card and the withdrawal returns to that card; fund by wire and it returns to that bank account. FxPro states it charges nothing on either leg. What changes the figure you finally see is the second border crossing — your Nigerian bank converts back into naira at its own rate and may add its own charge.
| Method | Withdrawal usually takes |
|---|---|
| PayPal · Skrill · Neteller | same day |
| Bank card | ~1 business day |
| Bank wire (international) | 3–5 business days |
What a trade costs
Two account types and one decision: pay inside the spread, or pay a separate commission on a tighter one. Both sets of figures are FxPro’s published terms.
- Commission $0
- Cost sits in the spread
- Commission $3.50 /lot/side
- Cost sits in the commission
cTrader prices the same way as Raw+: from 0.0 pips plus $3.50 per lot per side. “From” means a minimum rather than an average; spreads widen in thin conditions, and for a Nigerian trader the thinnest part of the day is the early morning before London opens. Overnight positions accrue swap (swap-free versions exist), an inactivity fee starts after six months, and leverage reaches 1:200 depending on account and eligibility, according to FxPro.
Where the money sits: client funds are held in segregated accounts, apart from the company’s own, with negative balance protection — the account cannot fall below zero, according to FxPro.
